Hi there! it has been so long~ long~ yeap! Singapore there I went..

b4 I start blogging any longer, jz wanna make somethings clear.. I have not started uni yet.. hahaha.. tis is gonna b confusing.

It all started with some Msia seniors who had this idea few years ago on creating a orientation for Malaysian freshies.. named as UFO- university freshmen orientation.. get used to it.. Singaporeans love abbreviations.. xD

we had a great time during UFO! went to Sentosa beach! the best trip.. was flipped my my OG-orientation group.. as usual i m still that noisy.. n cz of that i was bullied quite much during that time.. aiks.. too bad.. i still enjoy myself though.. hahahhaa...

I had my 1st test in NUS.. n i do not know how i did in tis test.. I really have 0 idea! well m hoping for the best.. aiks...

a lil bit more about my hostel.. i m staying in Sheares Hall.. n it is the best uni hostel I have ever known! super nice facilities! awesome ppl! d hall will have another orientation soon.. yeap another orientation.. geez... hahahhaa.. i will try to get some pics of my room! awesome fabulous room!! hahhaa... i get to access my room wit a card reader! how cool's tat? xD

friends i met there r super awesome.. ZI Qi, Zip, Sam, Chuckie, Alex, Aaron, Pretty, shi Keat... so many more to go.. ahhh.. how i jz love them.. awesome ppl! jz like my frens here! crazy till d max!! y do i always end up wit crazy ppl yea? xD

m now currently back in Msia for a few days.. got to meet wit yen fern! love that!! she's coming soon in no time n m now waiting for her in her library.. it's super small! my goodness.. aiks.. oh well.. hehehee. not commenting anymore..

well i still love Msia very much! d excitement when i came back to Sunway was so awesome.. hehehe.. yet thr's another news.. Sg is not as bad as it looks.. it's fine also.. so many things tat i learnt thr.. dun b shock if d next time u c me cleaning up n stacking my plates when i finish eating.. that's wat i normally do now in Sg.. i love tat cultural there.. some of them.. not all of them.. minus d clubbing la yea.. i still dislike clubbing.. although i love moving arnd.. but clubbing is still not a nice thing to me...

oh well... life's really great.. really busy with Singapore stuff.. aiks.. well bad news is I am d only girl going to Sg... others r staying in Malaysia.. T_____T got to learn to b reli independent now!! sobs...

Studies
yeap! i still have a study life. not tat i'm taking up any courses or wat. I'm starting uni soon!! *do i hear a hooray?* xD
well good news is i got d uni i wanted.. bad news is i'm leaving Malaysia at the end of July. yeap, my blog readers must have known tis.. I'm heading to Singapore's NUS!! yeah!! dream come true.. so dun stop believing.. everything is possible.. as long as u stay in God's way.. it's my greatest reward knowing Him^^

Family
oh well.. all d same.. d oni diff is Nick is back for his sem break! cool.. no idea wat we will do for 2 months together.. actually tis will b d last 2 months i will spend wit my family for this 2 months before leaving Singapore.. I'll make d best out of it.. will I cry on d day of depature.. nah~ dun tink so.. dun hope so.. xD

Ministry
so far so good.. my biggest task recently was Parent's Appreciation Dinner.. was in charge of d program.. reli learned alot.. n at last i got my back out of my chair to work!! cool!! n d dinner was a success.. thank God.. i reli felt satisfaction till d max tat nite.. cell leader Kevin Too is in Melaka n I am to take over his cell responsibility.. it's really nice seeing a difference in some of them.. not tat Kevin gor is too strict or anything.. maybe it's jz i'm not as matured to them as i have to.. xD

when i was back to dewan kuliah they ald started T_T
but when i entered, thr was tis bluee curtain covering d entrance..
couldn't c a thing cz d lights were off
it was so stuffy.. eh tak buka air cond ke?
mana tau it's bcz d hall was packed wit ppl!! oh my!! so glad!!
speaker was awesome, crowd were great.. responded reli well!!
i miss u guys..
saw hands raising to know our Christ.. thank you God..

seeing d group made me think of my life in CF..
ahh~ so nice then.. hehehe
knew some of d new cf members.. they were very awesome..

choosing the One

hi there.. it has been long.. life has been great for me recently.. how's yours?

gonna share something bout choosing the right one. Recently life has been more colorful but at the same time tempting.. working in a college n everybody knows tat college is the place to reli eye on nice stuff.. xD

but amazingly i eyed for something out of the college i m here. I eyed a little crooked.. those who knows where i'm working may know which college i mean.. xP anyway it's down to serious stuff.. i find myself back to the square me 2 years back.. eying n falling for tat person jz tat instant.. was somehow feeling tat i'm unconscious.. i know i was lost for tat moment.. God has His ways when working on my relationship matters.. maybe is the vow i made in my heart tat God heard.. somehow unstable relationship is a NO NO in God's eyes 4 me. n i know it's 4 my own good.

tis place has been the place i seek God most now.. "the toilet" xD i know it sounds funny.. but life is reli not ez while u r working.. u dun hv much time for lots of things.. prayed about it n God absolutely took away the feel fr me.. it's awesome how God does things so fast.. instant noodle still gotta cook.. God's instant is reli instant.

actually God isn't being over protective.. dun get me wrong!! He knows wat is d best for us.. He gives us the choice to choose. if i wud like to choose to b with the guy u tink God won't allowed? He will.. but being submissive means u wanna hand yr life to God.. let God draw yr life.. not any1 else.. is it hard to b submissive? Yes n No.. Yes it is hard cz u gotta have God more than yourself in u.. which i find it sometimes it's really hard.. No, it's not cz u jz gotta submit yrself God will make yr life the way He wants u to live n u will sure b blessed thru the process.. i tink the testimonies b4 tis will really remind me how blessed i am..

results out!! n i reli thank God for tis.. testimony time!! sit back n relax, u will c how great is our God..

STPM results day.. I was so nervous n all sorts of Q keep popping up my mind. "What if I didn't get any A's? will I cry?", "will there be a miracle where I can get 3 A's? sounds impossible.."
aiks was so emo in the toilet while I was preparing to go to work. Shu Ying stayed overnight at my house cz she was too nervous n couldn't sleep.. end up she passed all her nervousness to me.. n early in d morning I had no mood 4 anything..

looking at the clock ticking.. come on!! I wan it to me 12 soon!! tat's when d results will be out.. 12pm was so long away tat day.. at laz it was 12.. but I was working.. oh my n Mr Wong(my acc tuition teacher) sms me good luck.. I was like =.= ok let's hope 4 d best n i promised him if i get over excited I'll call him.. hahaha..

12pm n I called our class wonder girl a.k.a Zi Wei.. she called at 11 saying she has no mood n stuff.. at 12.30pm her voice changed!! she got 5A's.. i was reli proud of her but at the same time nervous.. cz she got 5A's!! wat will I get?

couldn't wait any longer!! called a fren who is in skul n asked bout my results.. n he said "Congrats!!" i was like 4 wat?? I got 3A's.. oh my gosh!! tis is true!! God is hyper great.. I did not pray for how many A's specifically.. but 3A's was a miracle 4 me!!! tq tq tq Lord...

n wait.. thr's tis CGPA in form 6 tat we nid to count n is super important 4 us.. it's like a average score.. i haven't got hold of my results so i had no idea how i did 4 d laz subject.. technology makes everything possible.. i sms thr n i got a reply.. B+ for d other sub!! oh my gosh!!! miracle.. n it was MATHS!! i'm so happy n was jumping around when i saw tis msg.. tq tq tq..

my aim b4 stpm was 3.75 for CGPA.. it was written on my STPM timetable. Nat's aim- 3.75 :), Min: 3.5.. it was with d smiley thr..

i almost forgot abt tis until tat day smtg reminded me when i was in d car.. 3.75 was indeed my aim.. n i got it!!! wow!! somehow I feel tat Holy Spirit is speaking to me.. thr was tis memory verse on my timetable too.. "For the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge Proverbs 1:7".. the other page was "Seek ye 1st the kingdom of God and others will be added on to you" God keeps His promises.. 4ever n ever!!!!

wanna know smtg else? God is fair.. reli fair.. Ivan, Joan and I served in CF during form 5.. Lord gave us all 6A's... tis year Gd was fair enuf to give me n another person who also served in CF the same CGPA n same A's n B's..

eh wat? 25th results will b out.. oh yeah baby!! heart's falling off soon.. it's ald dropping till my stomach i tell u!! horrible feeling.. exam is not d worst.. worst part is d results day..

make sure u dun cry while opening d paper.. zi wei, let's start vomiting.. thr's tis 1 thing si wei n i hv in common.. wheneva we r nervous, we vomit.. oh my!! horrible.. nothing comes out of our mouth though.. jz signs of vomiting.. haix.. i m nervous now.. n giving d "uuekk" sound now!!! help!!!

life is so different now.. somehow i feel not rite.. hahaha.. i dun hv to study 4 exams anymore.. 4 now.. hahahaa.. studying jz 4 exams has been a routine in my life for 1 and a half year.. n tis past 6 months were d worst.. never in Natalie Yap's life has she studied so much.. hahaha..

a great change n a great beginning.. lk wat i posted in fb, rite afta exam we all went to zi wei's hse 4 bbq.. n i was d most naughty 1 yday.. hahahaa.. started putting ice into ppl shirt fr d back.. n u cud hear screeching n screaming n 'NATALIE YAP!!' wahahahaaha.. i wanted to face smtg more challenging n i picked Sum Dek Ric.. hahaha.. d most ganas boy in my class.. who know he dunno how to throw.. luckily miss alot of time.. if not i'll b having great flu now.. end up i took a cup of ice n pour to his back.. i seriously din know d ice melted n become more water than ice.. end up his whole body wet d.. sorry sorry.. but he got to revenge tis time.. si yong, chris both holding some ice, grab my arm tightly n let d coldness fr d ice freeze my hand n ah sum come fr in front pour whole cup on my face n hair.. oh my!! i looked lk a mad woman then.. hahahahaa.. xD fun~~~

our story is reli cute.. she hate me when i was in form 5.. very much.. cz i was too cool *innocent me* oh well.. i tink we started getting close when i car pooled wit her too much.. 1st time if i wasn't mistaken was to visit Pn Wee.. we had nothing to chat initially on d way thr.. but on d way home we started to talk non stop.. which is so cool.. built our relationship later.. had lots of ups n down.. i did smtg stupid on MUET exam day which i felt reli stupid.. n sorry at d same time.. she taught me to b diff.. in someway ya tot me to b very "crazy" xP... but in d good way she encouraged me in lots of stuff.. how to b a fren for instance n not running away fr problems.. which i always do >.<

till now i sms wit her quite often.. n i reli feel great helping her in her studies.. although not much.. n seeing tis time her MA improved n Pn Yap din scold her but praised her i kinda feel proud 4 her.. dunno y.. i tink she was flying high then to.. hahaha.. congrats ya^^

well somehow i oni still hv very lil time to spend wit her in skul n i kinda regret not knowing her earlier.. tis is no emo post or smtg ya.. i reli appreciate u!! do tk care n i'm here wishing u all d best in yr MUET exams.. hope u get into a good uni in d future.. will pray tat u will never 4get me.. ahahaha.. although i may not b d 1 u will always wanna find when u r facing wit troubles but i hope we will stay in touch n stay very close.. Petrosains.. eventually i hate tat place.. dun think it's at all fun.. but but but.. after d visit yday i love it!! reasons were thr weren't much ppl around.. no queues.. everything thr can b played.. thr was tis reli nice guy teaching us how everything works.. we played n studied wat was written thr.. sat on d lil black car alone.. oni d 2 of us.. whee.. rmb d helicopter? we were d oni 2 passengers in it... reli lil scary wit d oni 2 of us in it.. hahaha.. but it's lk u get everything.. so cool.. n we din hv to follow a team of ppl.. when we finish playing everything oni we move on.. no when u go wit a team of ppl u hv to follow them around.. hahaha.. it's reli childish but i like it..

basically thr were lots of tourist thr.. we even played car racing wit an american.. he's reli funny.. n he keeps on winning.. geez.. hehehe.. n huey lih wud hv love tat place bcz thr were lots n lots of handsome ppl.. hahaha.. i love foreigners. lk wat u guys know when i was oni a kid i told my mom i wanna marry a "guai lo".. well if u let me choose i will in d end of d day.. but i still hand it over to God to choose my perfect partner^^

a pastor tat reli change d view of my life in lots of way..
he never ministered to me 1 to 1 b4 but he's almost lk my spiritual father
i will oni c him once a year..
but his sermons r always craft in my heart.

yet was touched by d holy spirit so greatly..
went to ps Phillip's a trip to Hell conference..
he never tells us much wat he sees..

reli if it was me who was taken to hell, i dread to forget it if i was him..
it's indeed hard.. no1 can take it..
but to tink of ppl i knew may hv ald been in thr..

was ald 1 day home fr d camp
yet i miss d campers so so much T.T
reli miss them..
although we r in d same skul..
but i still miss them so much..

Day 1
Reached to skul late.. great.. =.=
shared the R.A.A thing n i passed my responsibilities n authority to d younger ones..
had a great time playing in Taman Negara..
had lunch n left to STM..
when we reached, Hong Ken n I went n settle d rooms..
went around STM n it was BIG..
afta checking in, had great fun in games..
n green group started being active..
rmb playing a game requiring us to build a pyramid wit shoes..
green group was fast!!!
in 3 or 4 secs we cud rebuilt it..
kena so many shots jz to protect our group's pyramid..

ad great sermon n p&w tat nite.. cheers!!!
Day 2 had muscle ache during d morn..
but praise d Lord i still cud play.. hahahhaa..

Building Fund

i finish paying my building fund.. wanna make a testimony here..

for ppl who knows me.. i hv been tying my belt n bringing food to skul to jz save up.. but oni esther knows y.. ehehhee.. i just wanna finish paying my building fund asap.. jz wanna point out i dun tink it is suffering k.. when i c my purse growing i feel much more glad.. hehehe.. so, i still owe RM 300.. but i oni got to save up RM50 tis month n it's 3 months to my due time.. so i kinda say "i hand over to u Lord.. no way will i go to work now.. so i'll jz save up k? but Lord u r d provider.. so no worries la"..

ok tis is wat happened.. mom is now bz wit baby ying ying so we r now always going to my uncle's hse to help out.. i din help out much la reli.. somo i take nap in their hse, study thr till late nite oni go home.. but on fri my aunt gave us a angpau.. each of us... n i got RM300.. OH MY!! i was stunt.. n then oni i rmb ya tis will all go to building fund.. n i'm free..

so tell me who knew i was in need?? who helped me?? who else if it's not God.. love u Abba Father.. luv u till d max.. for the whole building fund all d money i tied my stomach not to eat was not even put into d building fund... maybe cz i cud not manage to save up (greedy pig xP) n oso everytime d money came in a sudden.. haix.. i Love my God la.. ahahha.. a big THANK YOU to my Father in heaven.. always taking care of me..

well for some of u who might know.. thr is a real big conflict happening between 2 of us.. i did not go everywhere telling every1 jz bcuz i am trying to solve it myself n hope by God's grace it will be done.. Char n Kent, I seriously wanted to talk to u all.. i know u all will sure have lots of advice.. but i am still doubting if i shud.. i reli hope i can settle it myself.. dunno i am acting stubborn or wat.. but give me more time.. i hope it wun b too worst when i get d chance to talk to both of u.. take care both of u..

STUDIES
real panic now.. exams exams exams.. but ya i have grew interest in PA.. i am putting my best.. maybe i wun get to c d results during this term's exam but awesomely i wanna aim to get A for STPM.. PA is real cool.. still very interesting to study.. other sub like MI has started to bore me.. somehow i feel d disadvantage of arts stream is d stuff we learn aint deep.. not much of challenges.. hmmmm.. well anyway...

I can never sit still more than half an hour.. that's y when it comes to calculation n stuff n i will have my cd player on.. blasting my whole room wit p&w songs, hillsongs, what so ever.. hehhee.. real bad habit when it comes to memorizing i can't turn on d music cz d only thing i will memorize is d lyrics.. hehehe.. n if i off it u will c me running up n down d house afta an hour.. jz impossible for me to sit n do d same thing every min.. haix..

10. hehehe.. to make my day a great day i do sometimes praise myself a bit early in d morning.. i jz do some self adoring n i feel real great.. look in d mirror every morning after coming out fr d toilet or shower.. to check if any zits grew.. hehehe.. if there were an increase of 1 well i will jz straight touch my hair.. cz i have real smooth hair (thank God^^) n it will take me away lil fr d zit.. hehehe.. if i slept real early d day b4 although d zits din decrease but i feel real proud tat i will have a real great complexion for tat day.. so d self admiring ya.. hehhehe...

11. n i can't keep my hands to myself.. hehehe.. esther, kah eng n yen fern know tat.. i do a real great job in waking them up when they r sleepy.. 1 whack n they will jump to their feet.. although i know i will sure ge a tickle or whack fr them io jz can't go thru a class w/out whacking them.. crazy rite?? hahhaa..

12. goals haiyo panjang la.. read resolution ya.. hahhaha.. well of cz get at least 2 or 3 a's in stpm la.. i aim 2.. but find it kinda ez to reach.. so now aim 3 liao.. not gonna let me enjoy tis yr so much.. hehehhe..

well has been a tiring 4 days for me..
went to so many places that i am so eager to get a rest at home..

sunday: Reunion Dinner
still d same went bk to rawang n makan.. then that's it.. i dun reli have fun in rawang sometimes.. on our way home dropped by grandma's hse oni we knew grandma n doc uncle had an arguement=.= .. well talked to grandma for quite long until doc uncle said we were quite noisy n her twin daughters can't sleep then we left d hse.. went to kayu wit 2nd uncle.. now here starts d fun.. hahaha.. we gossiped, makan, minum, watch football.. was real cool.. after all this went to his house.. wanted to watch IP Man (DVD) ended up watching dracula.. nice show.. hahaha.. left around 1 or 2.. crazy.. xP

cut short everything.. got lots of angpaus n jz went bk to rawang.. Nick had a great time gambling.. xP

went n visit 2nd grand uncle, grandpa's bro.. chit chat n makan tat's all we did.. n played wit doggie.. went 1U makan again.. gossipping wit aunt AGAIN... then we went makan dinner.. makan again.. n this makan is so special.. my 36 or 7 years old cousie brought his gf.. at laz.. reli.. at laz.. we were more than happy he has found some1 he reli likes.. n the girl is a china girl.. real pretty n most importantly a real strong christian.. amen to that.. we were all very happy n enjoyed our dinner.. gambeteh cousie, gambateh!!!

the verse pastor Meng shared in church today.. an indeed good sermon for me.. the timing was exactly perfect.. God is always perfect.. to cut short everything i only can tell d important points.. think i will share this in morning cf 1 day.. indeed very good sermon..

1. Do not judge (Romans 14: 4, 10, 13)
-It's all about the "ruler" or "scale" in us.. it's only used to be measure ourselves not others..
-Learn to say praises and appreciation to others
*this was only the beginning*

2. Do not Codemn (John 8: 3 -11)
-不要定罪.. we have no rights.. God said I too do not condemn u, go n do not repeat ur sin.. n to think that what I said yday.. "u go n make sure u dun repeat ur mistake oni i forgive u".. totally the other way.. *hurted me so strong that i bowed down my head that instant to pray for forgiveness

- Nicky: Respect him and spend even more time with him than b4.
- Lil Noel: try not to use anger to solve problems. He may be slow but tolerate him, he's only 13

with Friends:
- never judge too fast
- just believe them especially those close ones
- buy presents for them on thier bday. rmb, who doesn't love presents??

with CF committes and members:
- love them as how God has showed me His love
- sing bday songs on thier bday ^^
- not to be stingy on presents =)

Studies:
- well don't keep any homework for Sats n Suns. Do all my homework on the day itself. Latest 1 day after the assignment has been given. *rmb, u have no time my dear*
- spend Sats for reading only
- spend at least 2 hours a day on revision which excludes hw time >.<
- do maths on Sunday at least 2 hours
- STPM!!! haiz.. study hard..

Ministry:

Sunday School:
- *be responsible in little things* never prepare later than Friday for Sunday teaching. best start on Wednesday and make sure all materials needed for Sunday is well ready on Saturday.
- love the kids much more than ever
- remember their bday. wish them on Sunday if their bday falls on other days of the week
- keep them in prayers

CF:
- an indeed big year for me. get things done on time
- be accountable. get the authorities informed for what is needed, used and before any decisions are made
- pray for cf every week in cf room, the growth, the committee.. everything!!
- be strict when you have to but be gentle too.. never forget I am not the head of CF but God

Health:
- keep in the shape I am now..( hehehe.. thank God for giving me a great health and body!!)
- lose some weight if possible either 1 or 2 kg
- jogging on Tuesdays and Saturdays *excited*
- less oil, less fat, more fruits and vege
- try to maintain an healthy diet
- dun skip breakfast!!
- sleep not late than 11 pm *curfew man*

Wealth:
- remember don't forget tithes every month
- keep an account for my income and where I've spent them
- try my best to save up RM 1.00 everyday (sikit-sikit lama-lama jadi bukit ma xP)
- use not more than RM 40.00 per month on phone bill

Things that I have to try to avoid:
- BGR
- get drunk (shhh.. I can drink and got drunk once and I feel real bad)
- blogging everyday (once a month is tolerable for now)
- facebook *gahh*
- spending hours in front of the comp wasting time reading pages n pages of stuff
- TV. dun ever try watching dramas, not even 1 chapter
- SMS and chat too much
- doubt people too much
- let my emotions take over my rational thinking *ahem* but seriously Nat stay calm n take a deep breath when things r too corrupted at times. pray for a calm you!!

got up early tis morning n saw indra biao yi in my hse.. i was still in pyjamas.. hehehe.. 7.15 n she's here to start our diet.. yup..

had a light yet heavy bfast.. watermelon, honeydew n yoghurt.. biao yi had ald finish hers n she says she's still hungry.. i was lk =.= apa ni.. i forced myself to finish my bfast.. but afta an hour or 2 i'm d a lil hungry.. lolz.. sori biao yi.. neva mind i still have my snack.. hehehe.. fruits oso.. lunch we r having chicken wrap.. dinner LAMB.. oh man.. wat kind of diet is this.. super delicious.. yummm.. hehehhehe.. well wish me luck ppl.. i wanna lose some weight n oso lose some pimples too xP.. it's a light diet.. no fried food.. hmm total coolness.. well hope i can jz stick on it.. n i know i will.. cz mom, biao yi n mel is joining us 4 tis diet.. had my best n worst day in 1 day.. early in d morning i was waken up by my dad to accompany lil bro to d hospital.. for few of u who knows my younger bro has swollen kidney n it's not a small matter.. yday he went for his ultrasound.. gov hospital ma.. waited for 2 hours jz to do a 5 mins ultrasound.. tis is still acceptable.. today was seriously ridiculous.. 6 hours!! man.. i brought books to read but i still felt bored.. well our Father in heaven somehow knows I'm bored n guess wat.. i turned around n saw Pn. Wee!! lolx.. her baby was thr for check up too.. bibi grow so much le.. fr d bibi Ma when he was born in d 1st day till now super cheeky n round eyes bibi.. kawaii!! hahahaha.. chit chatted wit Pn. Wee for awhile n she went off earlier than us.. haiz.. ok d worst part is finally over.. i wud hv to accompany didi for d moment being le.. his next checkup is on 24th of Dec.. hahaha.. his n my bday.. i hope i wun be free to accompany him by then.. hohoho.. n ya thr was lots of leng zhai in d hospital.. yen fern memnag ngam u.. hahhahhaa..

n wat was d best part of d day?? hahahha.. i am at laz letting go of d knot n d crazy memories between d 2 of us!! n i feel super duper happy.. some how it's lk letting go a rock tat has been pressing my hard 4 so long.. wud of cz lk to thank d person who will neva leave me n i wud oso neva wanna lose a fren lk him.. n oso to my Esther bao bei.. know u will still continue to be wit me.. ya u r my treasure tis yr oso.. hahahhaa.. take care ya my bao beiz.. treasure d both of u 4eva.. n not forgetting Jesus who has been leading my path n helping me in all sorts of ways.. how can i live w/out u.. can;t imagine.. dun wanna know oso.. hahahhax..^^

Stanley Yelnats was given a choice. The judge said, "You may go to jail, or you may go to Camp Green Lake." Stanley was from a poor family. He had never been to camp before.

And so, Stanley Yelnats seems set to serve an easy sentence, which is only fair because he is as innocent as you or me. But Stanley is not going where he thinks he is. Camp Green Lake is like no other camp anywhere. It is a bizarre, almost otherworldly place that has no lake and nothing that is green. Oddly, though, Stanley doesn't blame the judge for falsely convicting him. Instead, he blames the whole misadventure on his "no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather." Thanks to this benighted distant relative, the Yelnats family had been cursed for generations. For Stanley, his current troubles are just a natural part of being a Yelnats.

At Camp Green Lake, the warden makes the boys "build character" by spending all day, every day, digging holes: five feet wide and five feet deep. It doesn't take long for Stanley to realize there's more than character improvement going on at Camp Green Lake. The boys are digging holes because the treacherous warden is searching for something, and before long Stanley begins his own search—for the truth.

Fate conspires to resolve it all—the family curse, the mystery of the holes, the drought that destroyed Green Lake, and also, the legend of Kissing Kate Barlow, an infamous outlaw of the Wild West.
